Consider this page your key to the house. I will introduce you to each room and each little corner within it, share what inspired me to name it the way I did, and give you a sense of the kind of content that will be waiting for you there. Nothing here was named by accident. Every door has a story.
This is not a typical blog. You won’t find your typical blog categories here. Instead, when you step inside the pages I created for you, it will feel like stepping into a grand house. Each room selected with care, each one named beautifully by something I was inspired by, each one holding something different. At the heart of it, I chose to paint this blog like a beautiful house because that is what I long for the most to accomplish in my life, to have a home I love, decorated in a way that makes me feel safe, surrounded by beauty. A home I can call mine.
My name is Heidi. I am 48 years old and I am starting over. Not in a dramatic, everything-is-falling-apart way, (although it really is) but in the quieter, more complicated way that many of us find ourselves in at some point. I am rebuilding a life I love. I am remembering who I am. And I decided to write it all down.
So inside these rooms you will find recipes that are really stories. Beauty rituals that are really about self-respect. Rooms styled the way I believe all rooms should feel, like somewhere you actually want to be. And woven through everything, a running narrative about what it means to be a woman starting over, with a heart full of dreams.
This place was built for women like us. Women who got a little lost and are finding their way back. Come in. Stay a while. You are very welcome here. If you are a woman who has ever felt like she lost herself somewhere along the way. This house was built for you. Pull up a chair. Let me pour you something warm.

THE COOKING QUARTERS
THE HEART OF THE HOUSE
Named after an area of the home in the regency era where a grand kitchen was where the kitchen staff prepared meals. In my rented townhouse kitchen. this is place where I begin my day. I spend hours of my day in the kitchen. Even though my daughters are older, the kitchen is still very much the heart of the home. It is where we all gather at several times throughout the day. It is where we wake up to make our morning beverage. For me it’s a morning cappuccino, for my oldest, it’s her daily Matcha carefully whisked to perfection with her vanilla bean paste and organic raw unfiltered honey, my middle daughter wakes to her Earl Grey tea with milk, and my youngest usually sends me a text with her beverage of choice which changes each morning. Sometimes it’s a banana smoothie, other times it’s a matcha, sometimes it’s an iced latte, or whatever else she decides.
THE GATHERING TABLE
Where food brings everyone to the table. Here I will share the art of creating a place for family and friends to gather. I will share my love for all things tabelscapes. From table linens to my obsession with plates, and simple and delicious meals to make.
THE MORNING ROOM
I imagined this room to be a peaceful place within the house where light shines in and feels like warmth on a sunny day and cozy on a cold and rainy day. A quiet corner devoted to slow mornings. Tea and coffee rituals, breakfast spreads, and the sacred first few hours of the day. An area that is perfect for reading.

Here you will find recipes worth keeping. Not tutorials, but stories with ingredients. The kind of cooking that feels like coming home.

THE MOST PRIVATE ROOM IN THE HOUSE
The Boudoir is where beauty lives. Not the performative kind, but the kind that is practiced in quiet, for no audience but yourself. It is where I talk about the rituals that make me feel like myself again. Like skincare at the end of a long day, a fragrance that holds a memory, clothes chosen with intention.
It is also the room where I talk honestly about what it feels like to inhabit a body you are still learning to love.

I believe deeply that a woman can rebuild her life one beautiful corner at a time. Interiors, home decor, organisation, styling, the philosophy of nesting — and one day, my own collection of table linens, dishes, and bedding made for women who want their homes to feel like a soft place to land.

Stepping Stones is the section of this blog I am most tender about. It is where I write about growth — not the Instagram kind, with before-and-after photos and a five-step plan — but the real, unglamorous, deeply personal kind. The kind that happens slowly, quietly, and often in the dark.
It is for women who are rebuilding. Women who are remembering hobbies they forgot they ever wanted to try. Women who are 40, or 48, or 55, and are only just now beginning to ask what they actually want. It is never too late. I say this not as a platitude, but as a daily practice.
